The Prime Minister has announced that her Government will seek to leave the Single Market as part of its Brexit negotiations. This could have a significant impact upon recruitment within the construction industry, which employs 176,500 workers from the European Union - nearly 10 percent of the total workforce. London is particularly at risk from the changes, with a quarter of its construction workers coming from the EU.

It is vital that the construction industry is ready to meet the potential workforce challenges that could arise as a result of Brexit, with recruiting and training British workers likely to be a key priority.

Join our Breakfast Briefing on 14th September for an opportunity to discuss what Brexit means for skills and recruitment in construction. Hear from our speakers, including Sarah Beale, Acting Chief Executive, Construction Industry Training Board, about what the industry can do to prepare for the future.

Key Issues to be Addressed Include:

  • The impact of Brexit on the construction workforce
  • Mitigating the risks and uncertainties arising from Brexit
  • Actions the industry can take while negotiations are ongoing
  • Recruiting and retaining more British construction workers
  • Government policies to support recruitment in construction
  • Partnership working between the industry, training providers and public sector stakeholders
